Information

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of the oldest premier Central Universities of India with a unique and rich culture of its own. It owes its existence to the selfless and untiring efforts of the great visionary SIR SYEDAHMAD KHAN. In 1875 he founded a High School at Aligarh, which, within three years, was raised to a College known as Mohammadan Anglo Oriental College, which metamorphosed into Aligarh Muslim University in 1920 through an Act of Parliament.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) draws students from all corners of the country as well as foreign countries, especially Africa, West Asia and Southeast Asia. In some courses, seats are reserved for students from SAARC and Commonwealth Countries.
The University has 12 Faculties viz. Agricultural Sciences , Arts , Commerce , Engineering & Technology ,Law ,Life Sciences ,Medicine ,Management Studies & Research ,Science ,Social Sciences ,Theology ,Unani Medicine, each comprising of several Departments of Studies. The University also maintains a number of Colleges, Institutes, Centres and Schools.
The details of courses of studies and the eligibility requirement for admission to each course have been outlined in the Admission Guide of the University. Admissions in all the courses are done on the basis of rules framed by the Academic Council for each course as amended and enforced from time to time. Further, admissions to AMU, Aligarh as well as AMU Centre, Malappuram and AMU Centre, Murshidabad Campus will be made through a single admission process for courses of study being taught at more than one location.
University is conducting Entrance Examination for Admission to Postgraduate Agriculture Courses for its Constituent Colleges/Departments

M.Sc. (Agriculture) Microbiology
B. Sc. (Agriculture) / B. Sc. (Microbiology) / B. Sc.(Biochemistry) / B. Sc. (Biotechnology) / B. Sc. (Bioinformatics) / B. Sc. (Plant Molecular Biology) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
OR
B. Sc. (Life Sciences) with Zoology, Botany and Chemistry of equal value or with either Zoology / Botany / Chemistry as main / major subjects and the other two as subsidiary subjects with not less
than 55% marks in aggregate as well as in the main subject.
M.Sc.(Agriculture) Plant Protection
B.Sc. (Agriculture)/B.Sc. (Horticulture)/ B.Sc.(Biotechnology)/ B.Sc.(Forestry) / B.Sc. (Microbiology) / B. Sc. (Biochemistry) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
OR
B. Sc. (Life Sciences/ Biosciences) with Zoology, Botany and Chemistry of equal value or with either Zoology / Botany / Chemistry as main / major subjects and the other two as subsidiary subjects with not less than 55% marks in aggregate as well as in the main subject
Master of Agribusiness Management (MAM)
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
M. Tech. in Agricultural Process and Food Engineering
B. Tech. or its equivalent degree in Agricultural / Chemical / Food / Mechanical / Dairy Engineering / Bio Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology with 60% marks in aggregate.
OR
M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry with 55% marks in aggregate at M.Sc. level having studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; or Industrial Chemistry with Mathematics at
B.Sc. level and have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
