Andhra Pradesh - Education Common Entrance Test(APSCHE - EdCET)

Information

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education Was constituted by the State Government in 1988 to advise the Government in matters relating to Higher Education in the State and to oversee its development with perspective planning and for matters connected therewith.
Admission to the professional courses in the Universities and Colleges of the State is also done through the Entrance Tests conducted by the APSCHE,
EdCET is a Common Entrance Test conducted for Admission to B.Ed Course in the State.
Andhra University, Visakhapatnam will hold the responsibility of conducting this exam under the aegis of APSCHE for the year 2013.

Eligibility

The candidates should fulfill the following criteria.

  1. The candidates should have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Home Science)/B.C.A./B.B.M. Examination from any University in Andhra� Pradesh or a recognized University out side Andhra Pradesh.
  2. The candidates who are appearing for final year degree examinations in 2012 are also eligible to appear for entrance examination.
  3. Candidates with at least 50% Marks either in the Bachelor's Degree or in the Master's Degree in the relevant subject or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission into B.Ed. course. However the candidates belonging to all reserved categories should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  4. The qualifying mark in the Entrance Test for all candidates is 37 out of 150 (i.e 25%). For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities there will be no qualifying marks for ranking.
  5. There will be no qualifying marks for women in the subjects of Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
  6. The candidates should have completed 19 years of age as on 01-07-2012.
Eligibility Criteria for the choicde of Subject Under Part - C
(G.O.Ms.No. 92, Education (SE-Trg-I) Department, dated 16-11-2006 and the amendments thereafter).
1 - Mathematics : Candidate with B.A./B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject.
2 - Physical Sciences : Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physics and Chemistry or Allied Material Sciences under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subject.
3 - Biological Sciences : Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at intermediate level as group subject. 4 - Social Studies All candidates with B.A./B.Com./B.B.M. or B.C.A. candidates with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subject. 5 - English Candidates with B.A Special English or M.A. English

Prescribed printed application form along with OMR cum ICR application form and information booklet can be had across the counters from all the Head Post Offices and the University Post Offices in the State of A.P. Test Pattern
The common entrance test will be of objective type (multiple choice) examination. Candidate has to answer 150 questions in two hours time.
Part-A: General English - 25 questions for 25 marks
Part-B:

  1. General Knowledge - 15 questions for 15 marks
  2. Teaching Aptitude - 10 questions for 10 marks
Part-C: Methodology: Candidate has to choose one of the following subjects. It consists of 100 questions for 100 marks.

 

  1. Mathematics - 100 questions for 100 marks
  2. Physical Sciences - 100 questions for 100 marks
    1. Physics - 50 questions for 50 marks
    2. Chemistry - 50 questions for 50 marks
  3. Biological Sciences - 100 questions for 100 marks
    1. Botany - 50 questions for 50 marks
    2. Zoology - 50 questions for 50 marks
  4. Social Studies - 100 questions for 100 marks
    1. Geography - 35 questions for 35 marks
    2. History - 30 questions for 30 marks
    3. Civics - 15 questions for 15 marks
    4. Economics - 20 questions for 20 marks
  5. English Methodology- 100 questions for 100 marks
    1. Syllabus pertaining to English for Classes VIII , IX and X and that for the Two-Year Intermediate course of A.P.

    2. Syllabus prescribed for Optional English at B.A. Degree level (B.A., ML / Special English)
