Andhra Pradesh - Integrated Common Entrance Test (MBA/MCA)(APSCHE - ICET)

Information

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education Was constituted by the State Government in 1988 to to advise the Government in matters relating to Higher Education in the State and to oversee its development with perspective planning and for matters connected therewith.
Admission to the professional courses in the Universities and Colleges of the State is done through the Entrance Tests conducted by the APSCHE,
ICET is a Integrated Common Entrance Test conducted for admission to MBA and MCA Courses (Full Time/ Part Time/ Evening/ Distance Mode) in the State.
Kakatiya University, Warangal will hold the responsibility of conducting this exam for the year 2013.

Important dates and Eligibility

Eligibility

  1. The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date.
  2. The candidates other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.
  3. The candidates seeking admission :
    1. For MBA: Should have passed recognized Bachelors Degree Examination of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examination.
    2. For MCA: Should have passed recognized Bachelors Degree examination of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examination with Mathematics at 10+2 level.
  4. The qualifying Degree obtained by Distance Mode Program should have recognition by joint committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC.
  5. The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2012.
  6. Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.
  7. Qualifying marks in ICET-2012 is 25% and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates.
Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted into MBA/MCA course unless the candidate:
  1. appears for Counseling at the notified Centers.
  2. Applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for part-time/evening/distance mode).
  3. satisfies all the eligibility conditions of admission stipulated by the authority concerned.

Submission of Application Forms
Filled-in application forms (placed in the envelope supplied) should be submitted along with relevant documents to The Convener, ICET-2013 either in person or by Speed / Registered Post only on or before the stipulated dates.
Applications also can be submitted ONLINE. However, a copy of the downloaded application, a passport size photograph and D.D. for Rs. 250/- drawn in favor of "The Secretary, APSCHE, payable at Hyderabad should be submitted to The Convener, ICET-2013.
The late fee DDs and DDs with the copies of online application forms should be sent to the Convener, ICET - 2013.
Application forms received after the specified date and time and incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected.

Test Pattern
The test is designed to measure the candidate's ability to think systematically, to use the verbal and mathematical skills and to assess his/her aptitude for admission into MBA/MCA programme. The Test emphasizes accuracy. Therefore, the candidate is required to go through the instructions carefully. This is an objective type test and the questions are of multiple choice. Out of the given options, the candidate has to choose the correct answer. If the Candidate gives more than one answer to any question, such answers will be ignored while awarding marks.
The test consists of 200 questions of one mark each in the following topics.
Section -A: ANALYTICAL ABILITY
(i) Data Sufficiency : 20 Questions
(ii) Problem Solving : 55 Questions
Section -B: MATHEMATICAL ABILITY
(i) Arithmetical Ability : 35 Questions
(ii) Algebraical and Geometrical Ability: 30 Questions
(iii) Statistical Ability : 10 Questions
Section -C: COMMUNICATION ABILITY
(i) Vocabulary : 10 Questions
(ii) Business and Computer Terminology: 10 Questions
(iii) Functional Grammar : 15 Questions
(iv) Reading Comprehension : 15 Questions
