Information

GITAM University, established u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, is one of India’s premier universities having 34 years of track record in teaching and research of global standards. The University is located in three picturesque campuses at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. With a multidisciplinary approach, the University offers 121 programs at UG, PG and Doctoral levels in diverse disciplines in Technology, Science, Pharmacy, Management, International Business, Architecture, Law and Humanities.

GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2015) is a computer based online test conducted for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy programs for the academic year 2015-16 for its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru Campuses.

1.1 The GAT(UGTP)-2015 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following undergraduate programs.

1.3. The following are the criteria for admission to B.Tech. Programs:

  • Pass in Intermediate or 12th examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2015 or 2014 subject to the following criteria:
    • B.Tech. Programs : A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
    • B.Tech. in Biotechnology: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.
    • B.Pharmacy: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination with Mathematics/ Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.
    • B.Arch:A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying Examination  with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects and also shall qualify in NATA / JEE (Main).
       
  • Rank obtained in GAT (UGTP) - 2015.

Note: Students who passed Intermedaite or 10+2 examination in 2013 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear for GAT-2015.

1.4 Details of GAT (UGTP) 2015

The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections:

All questions are objective type (multiple choice questions). Each question has four options out of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks.

  • GATE qualified candidates will be exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) 20145 but they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule.
  • 3.1 The GAT(PGP)-2015 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following M.Pharmacy programs offered at Visakhapatnam Campus.

  1. Applications can also be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by DD for Rs. 150/- drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank.  Request for application by post will be accepted upto 21st March, 2015.
  2. Applications are available throughout India in specified branches of Union Bank of  India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.
  3. The filled - in application along with Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of GITAM UNIVERSITY, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director-Admissions, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam - 530 045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 31st March, 2015.
