Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC), India under section 12B of UGC Act.
The University has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certification by Standardization, Testing and Quality Certification Directorate, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India, for a period of three years. It has been accredited "A Grade" by NAAC during Feb - March 2007. It is an affiliating and teaching University that aims to facilitate and promote studies, research and extension work in emerging areas of higher education with focus on professional education in the disciplines of engineering, technology, architecture, management, medicine, pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing, education, law, journalism and mass communication, etc. and also to achieve excellence in these and related fields and other matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
It awards various degrees like: B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc. (Environment Management), M.Sc.(Forensic Science), M.Sc.(Ciminology), B.Arch., BCA, BBA, MBA, BMC, B.Sc.(MLT), B.Sc.(Hons) Nursing, BJ(MC), BASLP, BRT, B.Pharma, BPT, MPT, BHMCT, B.Ed., LLB, LLM, MAHM, MCPHM, MHRPD, BHMS, MBBS and Ph.D etc. The admission to these programmes is done yearly through Common Entrance Test.

Eligibility

NATIONALITY
Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are not eligible.
AGE
Candidate should be of 17 (Seventeen) years as on the 31st December, 2012.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent examination of the recognised University/Board of any Indian State with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY and ENGLISH (Core or Elective or Functional).
MINIMUM AGGREGATE
Candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of SC/ST candidates, subject to availability of seat for these categories in the respective institutions).

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

A Demand Draft of Rs.1100/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred only) drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the back side of the Demand Draft/Pay Order;

How to Apply

Admission Brochure along with Application Form can also be obtained through registered/speed post. A request in this regard should be sent to the Joint Registrar (Academic), Administrative Block, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector 16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075 alongwith the following :
(1) An application on plain paper, addressed to the Joint Registrar (Academic) requesting to issue Admission Brochure-IV (MBBS Programme). The application should clearly mention the name and the address of the applicant;
(2) A Demand Draft of Rs.1100/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred only) drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the back side of the Demand Draft/Pay Order;
(3) A self-addressed envelope of size not less than 24cms x 30cms.
Notes :
(i) The request must reach the University Office latest by 26th March, 2012. The amount once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances;
(ii) The envelope of the application requesting for the issuance of Admission Brochure-IV must be superscribed at the left-top corner as "REQUESTED FOR ADMISSION BROUCHER (MBBS PROGRAMMES) FOR THE SESSION 2012-13";
(iii) The University will not be responsible for the delay, loss or damage, if any, (during the transit) of the Application/Demand Draft/Pay Order for issuance of Admission Brochure and for the Admission Brochure after its dispatch from the University.
SUBMISSION BY HAND/POST
The Application Form complete in all respects in the sealed printed envelope given along with Admission Brochure-IV, should be submitted by hand at the University counter or it may be sent by Registered/Speed Post to the Controller of Examinations, Administrative Block, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector-16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075 latest by 5.00 p.m. of 16.04.2012.

Test Pattern
Both the Stages of the Common Entrance Test : 103 [CET : MBBS-2012] will be of 3 hours duration and will have One Question Paper in English medium. This Question Paper shall have 200 objective type (multiple choice) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked as (1), (2), (3) and (4). Out of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR answer sheet. Each question shall carry 3 marks, which shall be awarded for each correct answer.

There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. Incorrect answers will include both the 'wrong answers' as well as 'more than one answer to a question'. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Curriculum

The level of questions will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. Syllabi for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) shall be as specified by CBSE for class 11th and 12th under 10+2 scheme for students passing class 12th in the year 2012.
