ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test(IBSAT )


The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) is a not-for-profit Society registered under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350 Fasli (Act I of 1350 F). Established in the year 1984 with an objective of imparting world-class high quality education. ICFAI has around three decades of exemplary track record in the field of higher education. It launched the certification program for Financial Analysts, the CFA Program in 1985 and has been instrumental in developing a new generation of professionals in India. In the year 1995 ICFAI set up the Icfai Business Schools (IBSs) all over India at eight locations to offer high quality employment oriented two years Post Graduate Programs in Management with various specializations. Over the years, IBS Hyderabad is ranked among the top ten B-Schools in India in the independent surveys conducted by various magazines.

IBSAT is an online aptitude test conducted by the ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education University (a deemed University as per UGC act 1956), for students seeking admission to the MBA/ PhD programs of IBS Hyderabad.

IBSAT is based on CBT (Computer Based Test) format and consists of multiple choice questions. IBSAT is for 2 hours duration and is aimed to test the applicant's ability in quantitative techniques, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning and reading comprehension.

Important dates and Eligibility


Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks; with medium of instruction as English.

Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium at undergraduation level have to submit the TOEFL / NELT / IELTS score by May 31, 2014. Applicants in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations / viva / assignments before May 31, 2014 and submit proof of graduation by November 01, 2014.

All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of regular education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis).

Applicants who have completed their graduation on one time sitting basis or on a 2 year basis are not eligible for the MBA / PGPM programs of IBS.

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

Rs. 1200/- by Debit/Credit cards or DD in favor of IUCF A/c IBS payable at Hyderabad


Applicants interested in appearing for IBSAT can apply by any one of the following methods
1. Applicants are required to fill up the OMR application form enclosed and send it to the admissions officer, IBSAT office (address given on the left hand side)
2. Applicants can apply on-line by filling up the application form available at www.ibsat.org and make payment of Rs 1,200/- towards the cost using credit/debit card (visa/master card/citi bank card) through secure internet payment gateway
3. The IBSAT application material will be sent to such applicants
4. Download of application form alternatively, applicants can download the application form from www.ibsat.org, complete it and send it to the Admissions officer along with the demand draft of Rs 1,200/- towards the cost (demand draft in favor of IUCF A/c IBS payable at Hyderabad)

1. The last date for receipt of completed OMR application form is 10th December, 2013
2. All applicants are advised to adhere to the last date prescribed for submission of the application form
3. Submit the application form as early as possible to improve the chances of getting the test center of your choice
4. It is mandatory for all the applicants to indicate their e-mail ID, as all important information relating to IBSAT will be intimated to the applicants by e-mail
5. Similarly all applicants are required to send their letters/correspondence by e-mail only to info@ibsat.orgclearly indicating their names and application number of IBSAT

Admission Process :
1. Admission is based on IBSAT 2013 and Interview. GMAT scores (from 2009 onwards) and CAT 2012 scores are also accepted in place of IBSAT 2013.
2. IBS Hyderabad accepts GMAT score of 550 and above and CAT percentile of 75 and above.
3. IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Bangalore, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Mumbai and IBS Pune accept GMAT score of 500 and above and CAT percentile of 75 and above.
